When it comes to bringing a lesson alive, The Market Place Theatre, Armagh is the place to be. We’ve welcomed thousands of school children to the Market Place Theatre, so if you haven’t been to visit us yet here are a few ideas of how to get the most from your Market Place Theatre visit.
Join two birds hatching into the world, on a journey of discovery, as they hear the sounds of nature, see colours for the first time and learn how to fly.
Mixing exciting aerial circus, dance, live music, soft colourful lighting, and soothing sensory sounds, these friendly birds and their feathers will enthrall the whole family! This is an engaging and humorous interactive, non-verbal show, specifically designed and created for young children.
Fidget Feet is an Aerial Dance Theatre company who perform and tour regularly across five continents and to audiences of hundreds of thousands of people.
The show is suitable for children aged 18 months to 7 years and their parents or guardians.
Pause and Effect is a fun-filled dance production suitable for ages 3+. Four dancers accompanied by sixty blocks create a colourful whirlwind of action, construction, deconstruction and reconstruction. They dart, scramble, dash and squabble with their humorous and playful antics conveying messages of friendship, understanding, support and sharing, competition and communication.
Audiences will enjoy the playful antics of these four amigos. A perfect introduction to dance for young audiences, particularly suitable for Foundation and Key Stage 1 school groups. Participating schools will be offered a free workshop at the school.

Eddy The Teddy's best friend, Sammy Ragdoll, complains that Eddy never does anything for her, so he decides to make her breakfast. However, she wants an egg and there are none in the kitchen.
So, Eddy finds himself on the Farm and meets Old MacDonald who says he can help himself to an egg. However, Eddy has no idea which animal could help him. He asks the Silly Sheep, and Daisy the Cow and Pat the Dog before discovering he needs to find a bird. Can Ducky Quack Quack help him or will Henrietta Hen be of more use? Eddy is going to need the help of the children in the audience if Sammy is to have her breakfast!
As two talented actors use elements of theatre, mime, puppetry and songs to bring this story to life, this show promises to provide a very entertaining experience for children aged 3 - 6 years!

The Market Place Theatre is delighted to announce this year’s Christmas spectacular, ‘Sleeping Beauty’. This full-scale traditional pantomime will combine wonderful music, song and dance, colourful costumes, memorable characters, and loads of audience participation, in a lively and sparkling Christmas adventure.
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, a beautiful princess is born. The entire kingdom is delighted, apart from the evil fairy, who places a curse on the Princess, so that she will prick her finger on a poisoned spinning wheel on her 16th birthday! Who could possibly break such a terrible spell? And who will be brave enough to challenge the evil fairy? And what mad shenanigans will occur in the meantime?
