WORKSHOPS

Throughout the year we offer lots of creative learning opportunities for students of all ages. Your class can experience a live theatre show, enjoy world-class art exhibitions, or enjoy a creative workshop led by professional artists.

Working closely with the current curriculum, we’ve created a number of opportunities to support post-primary school learning at The Market Place Theatre, Armagh.

PASTEL PAINTING | SAT 3 JUNE | 10.00AM – 4.00PM | £15.00

This workshop is suitable for beginners and to those more experienced artists. During the workshop participants will experiment using different techniques such as mark making, blending, feathering, and overlays and learn how pastels can be used in mixed media in painting. Participants will learn how to mix colour via the blending and the overlaying of colours, and will experiment using different types of pastel papers e.g. Ingress and sandpaper. Each student will complete their own original pastel painting to take home with them. Participants will need to bring coloured soft pastels. Please bring an apron or an old t-shirt to protect clothes.

Our annual Musical Theatre workshop is back! Why not make good use of the holidays to learn or perfect your skills in acting, singing and dancing. Over the course of five days a professional director, musical director & choreographer will work with you on scenes, songs and dances from some of the most popular musicals around, before you perform ‘Showstoppers’ on The Market Place’s Main Stage in front of your own live audience. Believe us, it’s the best fun the summer can be! Participants should wear loose clothing & trainers and bring a snack & drink.
